A field of four-leaf clover, I will bring

To give you one each day to wish upon

I’ll send you blackbirds so you’ll hear them sing

Their warbling song that says winter has gone

A field of golden daffodils I’ll bring

To fill a range of vases just for you

And as their faces radiate with spring

You’ll look and smile to see the sun shine through.

A rainbow I will pluck out from the sky

And with it, I will bring the pot of gold

Their colours will delight, you’ll not deny

For everyone to have and to behold

With all these things that I have said I’ll do

I’ll add a hug and so much love for you

    Hi Sandra

I love this. It is such a painted picture in words that I had visions of the flowers and the rainbow as I was reading it. Very nice poem again.

Your poetry helped me to write these thoughts today…
The gift of true love is more precious
Than all the gracious gifts we could share.
To have all the gifts without the love
Would merely be to receive these alone,
As the temporary treasures of this world.
There could be no greater blessing
Than to receive gifts from the one you love
And who, in turn, loves you…
That is where true happiness grows…
Because it comes from what has already begun…
And what was meant to be…

That is really lovely, Denis. The gift of true love is something to be cherished, unfortunately, some only realise they had it when they’ve walked away. I’m so pleased my poem inspired yours, I hope to read more of them. xx

    Hi Sandra

Beautifully sentimental and a lovely poem to-boot. I’m not very adept at romance type writing but you seem to have it covered well.

I’ve missed reading your work and I’m glad I’m back to catch this one. Hopefully you’ll bring on more.

    Hello, Sandra

A very nicely written and picturesque piece of love poetry, my friend. The feelings shine through the words and touch the reader right from the very first line.

A lucky man he would be to get the poem given to him not to mention all the promised gifts.

    Well done
