I took a walk with Him today.
Explained my sins along the way.
I had excuses for each one,
and felt so good when I was done.

For each excuse I had to give,
He showed me how I should have lived.
For each was lame, I had to say,
but hoped that I’d get by today.

For every lie I told, He cried,
for that is what He’d not abide.
For every sin I did today,
was one more pound I had to pay.

The thoughts, impure, He saw right through
and told me what I had to do
to make amens, and carry on
a child of God, not satan’s pawn.

I listened close to what He said,
I wanted so much to be led
back to the path He’d bled for me,
to feel my soul, once more, be free.

    Hi Barb

This is a very good poem and the rhyming is the best. The story is very true and what you say is correct, because He knows us more than we know ourselves. Very nice poem.

You are so right, Barb. We can’t lie to God, He can see right through it. We all try it on, but just like our mums and dads, God knows when we are not telling the truth. Lol, it’s not fair really is it!! This is another of your lovely poems, my friend. xxxx

    Hello again, Barb

Another very engaging story poem about your life and sins. He indeed does know all we think and do, but, after all, He gave us free choice as humans and most of us do sin from time to time. I’m sure we’ll be forgiven at the end of the day, you included, my friend.

    Lovely once again

    Hi again, Barb

Another great and to the point piece of poetry. You are so good at these story poems with fantastic rhyming.

You are so correct that we can’t lie to him as we can with humans because he already knows what we are thinking before we say it.
