The T. V. shouts of doom and gloom,
Sealed with my fears in this rather bleak room

Outside these walls is painted in black,
If I step out there I ain’t coming back

That’s if you believe the screaming talking heads
Who warn of disaster, who warn of the dreads

That await us outside, best shelter in place,
And get some duct tape to cover your face

Hermetically seal your life, of people be wary,
They’ve certainly got it, the world has gone scary

Paranoia is in charge, and beamed from CNN,
Will our lives ever be the same again?

I know what they’re doing but I too fall prey
To megaphone disaster they shout day after day

    Greetings, Mike!

    Let’s explore these words.

The T. V. shouts of doom and gloom,
Sealed with my fears in this rather bleak room

( This first sentence brought a spontaneous laugh! Nice rhymes! Mikey.)

    Scrolling along…

Maybe the world needs to scared to make changes to our lives. And be prepared for the next pandemic.

    Hi Mike

You are correct in this very good poem. The world is a scary place and it is being shouted out loud. Here they even drive down the street shouting into the microphone in the police cars and ambulances telling us to get inside.
