Must-Miss T. V. is headed our way,
With villainous lies to torture your day

The state of our union’s about gone,
But we’ll be told that he’s got it going on

We’ll be bombarded with his whine,
About himself, poor him, but we’re doing fine

How he’s been persecuted like a long-ago king,
Had to fight the unfair the democrats bring

Hogging the spotlight, a delusional pig at the trough.
Lapping up praise, dismisses foes with a curse and a scoff

A deranged leader all over us on prime-time T. V.
Expecting everyone will tune in to see, not me

An all-network info-commercial in self-flagellation praise
How do I hate and despise thee, let me count the ways!

    Hello, MikeS

Seems that most of us writers must feel the same way about political leaders. You give some people an ounce of power and the steal a ton more of it. The problem is that they generally use it against the very people who gave them the power in the first place to meet their own needs.

Nice and straight forward little piece.

    Hi, Mike

The state of our union’s about gone,
But we’ll be told that he’s got it going on—I think I’d change “about” to almost as it seems to flow better to me.

A very entertaining little piece that I agree whole-heartedly with. I’m not from the US, I’m an Aussie, but, it the damn same here. When there’s an election they want to be seen everywhere and want you to look after them. However, when you or me need a hand! They are nowhere to be seen the creeps.

Thank you, P. D. and it seems to be not only an American political problem, but a world wide one

    Hello Mike Stevens

I see you can write poems to. You are very good at writing. I am still practicing thanks to my papa teaching me.

Those rich people think they own the world and can do what they want but when someone stands up to them they growl and cry like a baby. I agree with you again and I think they just like to see their faces on the tv.

    Very nice.

I realized my earlier reply may have made it sound like I now what it takes to be a good writer–I don’t, but the more I write, the better I get, at least to myself
