I once came home from drinking and
then passed out on the floor.
I lost my paycheck gambling.
My wife declared a war.

She kept herself quite busy while
I slept so very sound.
She’d left for work when I woke up,
there was no one around.

I had a cup of coffee when
I felt that I was able.
I noticed that my car looked strange
as I sat at the table.

I went outside and noticed then
that all four tires were flat.
The top and hood displayed a meet
with some old baseball bat.

The piece that normally adorned
my hood, stuck from my grill.
I was afraid to look some more,
I stood so deathly still.

I could not even get inside,
the doors were hammered in.
The mirrors and antenna were
torn off! Oh, what a sin.

There was some sugar in the tank,
I saw it ’round the cap.
The tinted windshield was the best …
resembled a road map.

The bumper has gone… was now replaced
with neighbor’s front yard tree.
There was a quite large open space –
no back window I’d see.

Through this, she proved she loved me still –
’twas lucky as could be.
The damage she did to my car
she could have done to me.

    Hi Barb

Well, I guess he learned a hard lesson about drinking lol. He’s correct in the fact that she could have done it to him lol. Another very well written and entertaining piece of poetry.
